Stefano Boeri and Lorenzo Romito are two important speakers renown in Italy and abroad for their lectures and their confidence.

Parole Pelate [Pealed Words]  aims at twisting conventional discussion formats towards an overwhelming, almost destructive, interaction between the lecturers and the audience without any sort of mediations besides the potatoes themselves.

Could pealing be an relevant allied in the fight against excessive use of rhetoric?

Can Potatoes help the audience to free itself from constraint?  

Hosted in the pealing department of the former Roman slaughter house, the debate doesn’t really have a topic, a focus or an objective.

Nevertheless the two invited guest talk for over 2 hours while waiting for the pealing to be over.

Microphones are pointing at water containers, transforming the potentially interesting debate into a no understandable conversation between human looking potatoes.

Cameras are directed at the pealing public eliminating once for all the aura of the lecturer.

The majority of the public follows a straight potatoes based diet for a week prior to the talk as prescribed by #dietadellapatata

Questions can only be made by throwing written potatoes around. 

Eventually the public and the guest e loose the sense of the talk.

The 200 kg of potatoes are Queens of the night.

Parole Pelate è un invito a ribaltare gli schemi convenzionali del dibattito, coinvolgendo gli oratori e il pubblico in un'attività estranea alla prassi propria della conferenza, alludendo piuttosto alla vocazione letteraria della Pelanda: la pelle.

Il tema di partenza dell’ incontro fra Stefano Boeri e Lorenzo Romito è il confronto tra anticittà e oltrecittà. Il dibattito non si configura come scontro tra posizioni, quanto piuttosto come la costruzione di un discorso comune.

Gli invitati aprono il dibattito in assenza di un mediatore, procedendo per associazioni di parole.

Gli ospiti, insieme al pubblico, declinano le parole mentre pelano 200kg di patate.

La giornata si conclude con un rinfresco a base di tuberi fritti e una sperimentazione di food music.
